I'm planning to make 2 cakes for the scout auction this saturday - one will be a peanut-butter-chocolate cake and I was planning to make a black forest cake (chocolate cake, cherries, whipped cream, etc) ....

until I read an article today that said that trifles are top sellers at church bake sales....
A trifle is a layered dessert - layers of cake, pudding/mousse, whipped cream, and fruit. So not a traditional cake, exactly, but it does have cake in it... I could make one like this, with the cherries, whipped cream, chocolate cake, etc just like the black forest cake....

So help me decide - traditional black forest cake, or black forest layered trifle? Which would you pick? (Vote above on right side of page)

I would so bid on a trifle!
