Fuzzy sock cupcake (Crafty gift Wednesday)

I'm always on the lookout for simple birthday presents for ladies who are diabetic. I visit a group of ladies from Church on a regular basis (several of which are diabetic) and when one of them has a birthday roll around I'd like to say "I remembered your birthday" without saying "I forgot about your serious medical condition, here's a cake"

I saw these fuzzy sock cupcakes and thought they would be perfect:Here is my first stab at making a cupcake:

I went with striped and polka-dot socks, for a more "swirled" look and used a little ceramic custard dish that looked a little like an ice cream cone....
