I couldn't find what I was looking for online, so I decided to make my own. Of course, this went against my no-new-projects policy, but it only took me 2-3 hours, so I rationalized it. I used the freezer-paper method* (that I've used a few times before) so I made the stencils myself. I've used this method a couple of times and it is SO EASY. All you need is craft paint, paintbrush, freezer paper**, a craft knife, and an iron. I put it on a "hoodie" instead of a t-shirt, because I thought she'd like that even better. I also put the name of the play down one of the arms (2nd photo). It turned out awesome!
I don't want her to know about this project (so don't tell her!) but at its not the "main" present, so I'm going to risk it so I can show the photos! I just had to show someone because I was so happy with how it turned out.
Now remember, DON'T SPILL THE BEANS! :)
*I got the instructions for the freezer paper method at craftster.com. Here is a link that shows how its done - it's about 20 times easier than you think its gonna be and you don't have to buy a whole lot of extra stuff. The photos are the first post, and the instructions are several posts down from there.
**freezer paper comes in a giant roll and costs a lot (well, not a LOT, it was less than $10, but thats a lot to pay to use for just one project, IMHO) Anyhow- it lasts a long time... I've been using the same roll for 3 or 4 years (and probably 10+ stencil projects) and there is still a lot left.
