DON'T eat the ice cream!

So....I bought Wakelee a 1st birthday present. She's 3 months old. I've known that I wanted to get her this certain present since before she was born, so why wait? I like to get my shopping done early, anyhow!

"Smart Snacks Rainbow Color Cones" by Learning Resources (about $15). Comes with 8 different scoops of ice cream and 2 cones.

I've bought this set before for a few toddler birthdays, including an adorable girl that I used to babysit, but I always wanted them for myself! (I mean, for my kids...ya, thats it). They are the cutest, full sized scoops of ice cream and cones - THEY LOOK LIKE REAL ICE CREAM!!!

You can get these toys at stores that sell educational toys (like The Learning Palace) or online (I got W's on Amazon.com). The recommended ages are 2-5 years old (Amazon.com recommends 3+), but I scoff at that recommendation. I have played with (I mean seen....) these toys a hundred times, and they are thick plastic that is really sturdy and there isn't anything that could come close to being a choking hazard unless your baby has a mouth big enough for a full-size scoop of ice cream. If the age recommendation is based on the educational value of the toy (stacking and colors, there is no actual game), they aren't taking an important factor into consideration - FAKE ICE CREAM IS FUN FOR ALL AGES! (well, maybe 6 months+).

"As for me and my house", we will be playing with fake ice cream...(in January, if I can wait that long to open them)
