We usually have the goal of having Kendall finish the school year's curriculum around this time of year, so we can get a head start on next year and leave plenty of time for review before she has to take her annual standardized test. Today is the end of the "term", so as soon as she takes her test she will be officially in 6th grade (though we usually go by the public school calender when people ask what grade she's in, otherwise people get confused).
I can't believe she's going to be in 6th grade!

I can't believe it either! I found a picture of you two at the beach when she was just a toddler! And it feels like it was not that long ago! CRAAAAAAAAAAAAZY!
