UPDATE: Baby name

We've had mixed response to the baby name we picked out - which is fine, we were expecting that, and it doesn't bother me. You all should have heard some of the other names we were considering!!!! Then you'd LOVE Stevie! LOL

It kind of seems like when you have "the name" you know it - and so no matter how much my relatives hate it, it really doesn't bother me :) Think about it, even if you like the baby name someone else picks, you probably wouldn't pick it for your own kids, anyhow. So, you can't please everyone. There is always going to be someone who hates trendy names, old-fashioned names, girly sounding names, etc, so you just have to go with what you like.

We are still trying to come up with a middle name and I'm just as picky about that as I was with the first name.

I think I'm looking for something with ONE syllable, (but not Anne or Lynn because I think those are over-done as middle names). Also a lot of one-syllable names are excluded because they either,
  • #1- aren't feminine enough (trying to pick something definately girl-ish because the first name is boy-ish)
and/or
  • #2- when combined with Stevie, a lot of one syllable middle names sound like a character from The Waltons, a relative of Billie Ray Cyrus, or a character in the Steve Miller song, "Take the Money and Run" (ie, Bobbie Sue, Billy Joe, etc).
So, for example, I like the girls name Jo (like from 'Little Women'), but Stevie Jo sounds a little too hillbilly for me (no offense to hillbillies), and Joe is also a boys name, so thats out altogether!!!!!

If you have any ideas that fit my ridiculous criteria, post a comment!

  1. Nicks, or Knicks, or Nix....hee hee. I love the name Stevie by the way. I knew a girl in high school with that name! Good luck on the middle name.

  2. All I could come up with for one syllable names were Jane and Rose. But I've always like Marie for a middle name... My husband (who really likes Stevie)suggested Claire. And I think we just name your baby. Your welcome!
